Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District

Michigan’s new 3rd congressional district has a partisan lean of D+3. It is located in western Michigan and includes the city of Grand Rapids.

  • According to the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, 58% of voters in MI-8 are concerned about climate change (below the national average), while 68% believe it will harm future generations (below the national average).

  • Fifty-seven percent believe Congress should do more about climate change, and only 49% believe climate change should be a “high priority” for the next president and Congress, which is below the national average.

  • Climate issues are discussed by less than half the electorate. Only 32% indicated they talk about climate change even “occasionally,” which is below the national average of 35%.
